5 June: World Environment Day

Since its inception in 1972, World Environment Day has been observed annually on June 5, in order to raise deeper awareness of the need to protect, preserve and enhance the environment. The theme of World Environment Day 2010 is Many Species. One Planet.

This prayer for World Environment Day unfolds in three movements: celebration, lamentation, response.  Be creative in your use of music, drama and space.  Choose from among the scripture offerings.  Or you might choose to pray one movement each day.
