COP 21

As the UN Conference on Climate Change – COP 21 – stands at our door steps, we would like to alert you to some useful websites to follow the Summit’s developments in Paris. A Defining Week

When a diplomat called September 25-30, 2015, “a defining week”, he was pointing to three critical events taking place at the United Nations: more than 150 Heads of State or Heads of Government spoke during the annual General Debate at the beginning of the 70th Session of the General Assembly, with the situation in Syria dominating many speeches; the adoption of Agenda 2030, the Post 2015 Development Agenda, with an address by Pope Francis...

DPI/NGO Conference 2014

From 27-29 August 2014, the NGO community at the United Nations gathered at UN Headquarters in New York for the 65th DPI/NGO Conference. An Open Working Group was tasked to articulate and propose a set of SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals – that would guide the world’s development framework for the period 2016-2030.

Think·Eat·Save – that is the theme of this year’s World Environment Day (June 5). Did you know that more than a billion tons of food is being wasted every year? While nearly 870 million people go to bed hungry every night and at least an equal number of adults around the world are overweight, food is lost and wasted in unacceptable amounts.
